Sales Service Engineer

The primary responsibility of this position is establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and provide highly visible customer support and technical insight while promoting G&T products and services to steel customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan an effective sales service visitation program to customers and potential new customers, to attain increases in market share and bottom-line profitability and assist in equipment trials, start-up and or troubleshooting at existing and new customers.
  • Respond to all customer calls in a timely manner and be aware and submit new business proposals to the Sales Manager for review and approval as the opportunities arise.
  • Plan and conduct demos and or trials at customer sites for the introduction of new and/or improved products. Write reports and provide copies to the Sales Manager and the customer.
  • Evaluate, track and maintain effective inventory levels at all customer sites, where access to inventory is permitted by the customer.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service Representatives to ensure customer Purchase Orders are correct and submitted on a timely basis.
  • Monitor on a routine basis the financial health of all customers (including: projected product utilization, account aging, etc.).
  • Attend technical conferences, shows and other meetings as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What’s Required for the Role:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree, technical degree or equivalent technical training certificate in the following areas of study: engineering, instrumentation, industrial maintenance or related technical fields.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge along with pneumatics experience highly desired.
  • Previous experience in steel/iron foundry or other molten metals processing facilities highly desired. 
  • Previous technical sales in an industrial environment desired.
  • Must be able to demonstrate high level of integrity, professionalism and leadership ability and exhibit a high level of self-motivation and initiative with the ability to efficiently manage time and meet deadlines. 
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to travel extensively.
